King in the Land of the Princess

A King, a princess. Their encounter in a makeshift Opera tent in a village. Here in today’s rural Bangladesh, the film brings up a colourful but understated drama of human and artistic dilemmas. While the princess is sought after on stage, on TikTok and in flesh by all the men – audiences watching the stage, the businessmen, the local politicians; behind the stage, the king waits and waits for his turn. He has to complete a story he began, long back.
